ANZAC DAy Tribute: From Kunmunya Mission to War. Audio Interview below
Steven (SJ Nulgit) has long been told the story of his grandad who grew up in Kunmunya Mission north of Derby and found himself sailing to WW2 on an ANZAC ship, along with all the stories of what he saw, the post war lack of recognition and then an official military acknowledgment in the last decade. Steven was fascinated by all the Kimberley kids sent to war from that era, the lives they were living before it all changed, so he decided to write a song about it. A dedication to all the "miners, drovers, ringers, bull catchers and the drinking kind.. divers, riggers, diggers and from the railroad line".
